What it is:
ResearcherID Labs is an interactive environment that facilitates further exploration, promotion and collaboration amongst researchers. The Labs environment is most useful after a publication list has been built, and includes the following features:
- ResearcherID Badge: Advertise a member's ResearcherID profile on your Web page or Blog.
The Badge creates a hovering display of recent publications, and allows viewers to also link to the member's full profile in ResearcherID - Collaboration Network: Visually explore who the researcher is collaborating with
- Citing Articles Network: Visually explore citation relationships based on Web of Science data
How it works:
You can access ResearcherID Labs by clicking on the "Preview the New Features: Labs" button on any ResearcherID Profile page. However, public viewing of a researcher's Labs page is dependent on privacy settings determined by the user.

What is ResearcherID?
ResearcherID, available via ResearcherID.com, is a global, multi-disciplinary scholarly research community. By assigning a unique identifier to each author who participates, ResearcherID provides an invaluable index to accurate author identification and increases recognition of work and collaboration among researchers.
What is a ResearcherID number?
A ResearcherID number is a unique identifier that consists of alphanumeric characters. Each number contains the year you registered.
Why get a unique identifier through ResearcherID?
By assigning a unique identifier, ResearcherID expressly associates each researcher with his or her published work -- standardizing and clarifying author names and citations and making information searches more straightforward and relevant.
Why register at ResearcherID.com?
By registering with ResearcherID.com you receive a unique author identifier, helping aid in the common problem of author misidentification. Though anyone can search the online registry to view public profiles, as a registered user you can:
- Create a custom profile, choosing what information is public or private
- Build an online publication list using Web of Science search services or by uploading RIS files
- Generate citation metrics with times cited information for items added from Web of Science
- H-index
- Citation distribution per year
- Total Times Cited count
- Average Times Cited count
- Showcase recent publications and promote your work using the ResearcherID Badge feature
- Get links to full text for items added from Web of Science (subject to your subscriptions to full text).
- View the global reach of your work using the tools in the Labs environment
How will I benefit from ResearcherID.com?
Because there are different users and uses for ResearcherID, we've created a web page that outlines the benefits unique to Researchers, Students, and Librarians & Administrators.
I would like a ResearcherID number! How do I register?
